One question, answered properly, with a written recommendation.
Book an auditFixed scope, fixed price.
Three ways to work with us. No hourly billing: the number you're quoted is the number you pay.
A defined build, delivered and handed over to your team.
Scope a projectOngoing analysis and upkeep from the same senior team.
Ask about retainersQuoted in USD and fixed at signature. If scope changes, it's re-quoted before any extra work starts, never invoiced after. Industry-specific audits start from $1,400. Compare them in detail
How much does data analytics consulting cost?
Three fixed prices. An audit answers one specific question in 10 working days for $1,800. A project is a defined build, delivered in 4 to 8 weeks, from $6,000. A retainer is ongoing monthly capacity, from $3,200 a month. There is no hourly rate: the price is fixed at signature from a written scope.
Is it good value? Compare it with the hire you're not making.
A project is worth it when the decision it informs is worth more than a few weeks of an analyst's salary, and you don't need that analyst full time. If you'll use one every day, hire one.
Which one do you need?
Most people talk themselves into the largest engagement they can justify. That is usually the wrong call. Pick the sentence that sounds like you.
Audit
One specific question, answered properly, with a written recommendation you can act on.
What you get
- A scoping call to agree the question
- Analysis of the data you already have
- A written answer with the reasoning behind it
- A 45-minute walkthrough with whoever needs to act on it
Not included
- Dashboards in production
- Implementing the recommendation
- More than one question
Project
A defined piece of analytics work, built and handed over, so your team uses it after we leave.
What you get
- A written scope with deliverables, dates and success criteria, agreed before we start
- The work itself: segmentation, forecasting, churn models, measurement, whatever the scope says
- A dashboard or scored table your team uses without us
- Documentation written for whoever inherits it
- A weekly written update, not a status meeting
- Two weeks of questions answered after handover
Not included
- Data engineering to fix broken source systems (scoped separately)
- Ongoing maintenance after handover
- Work outside the written scope without a re-quote
Retainer
Continuous analytics capacity for teams that have systems but not the person to keep them useful.
What you get
- A fixed number of days per month, agreed up front
- Priorities set by you at the start of each month
- Maintenance and new analysis on anything we built
- A monthly written note on what changed and why
Not included
- Unused days rolling into the next month
- Same-day turnaround or on-call support
- Long lock-ins: cancel with 30 days' notice
What moves a project price
Four things decide where a project lands above $6,000. Move the controls to see a rough range for yours.
A rough range from simple rules, not a quote. The fixed price comes from the written scope.

What actually happens after you book
The riskiest moment in hiring anyone is the gap between paying and knowing whether it was a good idea. Here is how we keep it short.
Scoping call
Thirty minutes, free, no deck. We work out the real question and whether we're the right fit. Roughly one in four of these ends with us saying no.
Written scope
Within two working days: deliverables, dates, price and exclusions. You approve it before anything starts.
50% up front
Half on signature, half on delivery. Retainers are billed monthly in advance. Nothing is paid before you've seen the scope.
Weekly, in writing
A short written update every week: what moved, what's blocked, what we need from you. You hear it before we invoice.
When is Ziro Data the wrong choice?
An independent analytics team isn't right for every situation. Four of these five options beat us under the right conditions.
| Option | Where it wins | Where it doesn't | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hiring in-house | Permanent context, always available, cheaper per hour over years | Three to five months before useful output, and you carry the hiring risk | The work is continuous and you can wait |
| Analytics platform or BI tool | Cheap, fast to switch on, no dependency on a person | Shows what happened, but not which question to ask or whether the number is defined correctly | You already know what to measure and why |
| Large consultancy or agency | Capacity, many specialisms, institutional continuity | You often meet senior people and get junior delivery, at a higher cost for the same output | The scope is large enough to need a team |
| Freelance marketplace | Cheapest option, fast to start | Highly variable quality, and you absorb that risk yourself | The task is well defined and low-stakes |
| Ziro Data | Fixed price and scope; the people you meet do the work; documented so you keep it | A small team with limited capacity: two engagements at a time | The scope is bounded and you want it actually finished |
Before you book
Two lists that will save us both a call.
This works well when
- You have data, even messy data. Years of imperfect records beat a clean warehouse with six months in it.
- Someone can answer questions. An hour a week from a person who knows why a column exists.
- A decision is waiting on it. The best engagements have a meeting date attached.
- You want to keep the work. Everything is documented and handed over. That's the point.
This goes badly when
- The data doesn't exist yet. If it hasn't been collected, no analysis will conjure it. That's a tracking or engineering project first.
- The answer is already decided. If the work is meant to support a conclusion someone reached last quarter, we're the wrong hire.
- Nobody owns the outcome. Analysis without a named person to act on it becomes a document nobody opens.
- You need it this week. Audits take ten working days. Good work has a floor on time.
Common questions about data analytics pricing
Is there an hourly rate?
What if the analysis doesn't find anything useful?
What happens if you're unavailable mid-project?
Who owns the output, and will you sign an NDA?
What data do you need to start a project?
How experienced is the team, exactly?
Do you offer discounts for longer commitments?
How are payments structured?
Thirty minutes, and you'll know whether this is worth doing.
Tell us the question you're stuck on and roughly what data sits behind it. We'll tell you which engagement fits, what it would cost and how long it would take, or that you don't need us, which happens often enough to be worth saying.
